Part of the England Ruby World Cup winning-team in 2003, how will this former winger handle the leap from a scrum to a Samba on Strictly Come Dancing? No stranger to a spray-tan nor stripping-off, Ben has appeared in numerous rugby calendars and has also graced the covers of Attitude, Out and Compete Magazine. He has modelled underwear and appeared on live TV in his undies in front of Fern Britton and Philip Schofield (to raise awareness of testicular cancer).
Whether this counts as training for some of the tighter and torso revealing costumes of Strictly Come Dancing is to be seen! ...I love watching Ben improve week after week... :) he's enjoying the dance more now and the nerves are barely there. Love it!
A shirtless Ben Cohen kept it hot and spicy as he performed the salsa on Strictly Come Dancing for mixtape week. The Saints legend and Kristina got a standing ovation after they performed the act to Black Crowes' Hard to Handle. They gained their highest score of the series with a total of 31 points, a three point improvement on last week's 28 for the rhumba.
I know some say he's not dancing much here and he was over-marked, but if you look, there are several different basic Salsa steps, and the technical difficulty of the lifts has to be acknowledged, which the judges did. And Kristina's faith in his ability is immense- if she'd slipped in one of those moves she could have broken her neck- literally. But she's an incredibly skilful choreographer and knows how best to showcase her partners, whether John Seargent or Ben Cohen. I loved this dance. i think the score was a little high, but he did do a good job and those lifts would have been taken into account in the scoring so i was't that shocked.
