Believe it or not, in a time not so long ago - before steroids invaded the muscle building scene - lifters trained using full body approaches. Yes, that's right. Full body training. In fact, full body training used to be the accepted norm. Then things changed. And here's the interesting part...this "new" form of training isn't new at all. In fact, it's old as in old school. Full body routines are different than training splits in several ways. You will be hitting every major muscle group on each training day, either directly or indirectly, but you will be performing fewer daily sets per bodypart. Full body training can be very taxing, simply because you are hammering your entire body. Make sure you resist the urge to add in more training days.

Just the truth about what really works for genetically average, drug-free dudes like you. But first, let’s address the single most important factor in building muscIe: getting stronger. If you want to get big you have to get strong. That’s the #1 rule of building muscIe.
If you want to build your muscles, I recommend you to avoid machines. If you can, which force you into fixed, unnatural movement patterns which can cause injuries. Free weights replicate natural motions. Free weights force you to control and balance the weight. This builds more muscIe than machines, which balance the weight for you. Strength built on machines doesn’t transfer to free weights or real life.
